By the time someone comes to a hypnotherapist they have tried a number of different diets and exercise programs and may have had some success at loosing weight but diets work on your body not on your mind and this is one of the reasons most people find it hard to keep he weight off.
Weight control sessions are held fortnightly for four or five sessions and incorporate homework tasks and your success is directly related to the amount of effort you put in.
Loosing weight is all about burning more calories than you consume so exercise will be required as well as changes to your eating habits. Hypnosis is different to most weight loss programs because it works with your behaviors, beliefs, values, motivation and habits not just your body and therefore can be personalized to suit you and your particular issue.
Hypnosis can help you: Stay motivated to exercise, Build self esteem, Reduce the causes of over eating, help you stick to a diet and resist certain foods.
Hypnosis is not a quick fix it takes time to reduce your body fat at a healthy rate of one and two pounds per week. This is a realistic target which would add up to a weight loss of more than three stone in a year.
One of the reasons diets don’t work is because it takes motivation over a long period of time to continually loose weight without having to use a crash diet or yo-yoing up and down in weight.
I’m not going to write much here about weight loss but it would be a good idea to know what weight you would be happy with and work out how long it would take to reach this weight if you lost one or two pounds a week this can give you a realistic time frame of when you will reach your target weight.
